1) We hired 26 bands in 2024 for KCBS-sponsored events.
2) Held 12 monthly meetings/jams at various venues throughout the metro area.
3) Held a “Road to Memphis” IBC and supported the local winners, John Paul Drum & Bill Dye as they took 2nd place in the solo/duo category, in Memphis, TN.
4) Held the 2nd annual Wine & Blues event at Trivedi Wine, in Lawrence, KS, with a band.
5) Held the 3rd annual Women in Blues event at BB’s Lawnside BB, with 2 women-led bands.
6) Sponsored a membership/volunteer party in Franklin Park with a band.
7) Held a special event show at BB’s Lawnside BBQ to honor the IBC winners, Drum & Dye, Nick Schnebelen and Hudspeth & Taylor who were nominated for Blues Music Awards.
8) Held another successful Michael Shannon Musician’s Fund (MSMF) golf tournament fundraiser at Shamrock Hills Golf Club in Lee’s Summit, MO, where over $3,000 was raised for the MSMF, which provides financial assistance to blues musicians experiencing financial hardships.
9) Held the KCBS annual signature event, Blues in the Bottoms, for the 2nd year. Three bands and 2 featured blues musicians were hired for this event.
