3rd Annual Celebrating Women in Blues

The third time is the charm! We are so excited to invite you to share our 3rd year of Celebrating Women in Blues. It’s our chance to recognize some of the extremely talented women who make blues music. This year, we have Lauren Anderson, formerly of Kansas City; currently living in Nashville. It’s been a while since she has performed in Kansas City, and she is super excited to come back. She has more CDs now under her belt, so she’ll be sharing new music with us.

Our headliner is Sister Lucille from Springfield, MO. They have had an outstanding 2024. Sister Lucille won “Best Self-Produced CD” at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, out of 200 CDs submitted. That’s an incredible honor. They were just nominated for 8 Independent Blues Awards 2024 in the categories of Contemporary Blues Band, Best New Artist, Contemporary Blues CD, Traditional Blues Song, Contemporary Blues Song, Song for the Common Good, and Best Music Video. Wow! This band is headed for the stratosphere so we’re glad we booked them while we can still afford them.

The past two years of Celebrating Women in Blues have been great, and we anticipate the same high energy fabulous music we’ve come to expect with this show. We’ll see you at BB’s Lawnside BBQ on Saturday, June 8, at 7:00 p.m.
