Review courtesy of Tom "Trashmouth" Baker and Charles "Dutch" Metzker

Track 1. Best of Times has a nice bass line with soul overtones.

Track 2. Slow Drag – the title is also the mood of this song. Nice melody.

Track 3. Recipe for Love – comes with a “Fever” tempo, nice.

Track 4. Kingston Shuffle – has a mambo drift.

Track 5. At the Hideaway – has an Elmore James vibe with melodic vocals.

Track 6. Higher Ground – a bouncy tune with good keyboards.

Track 7. Benny the Booker – a song that adds a little rock/swamp rock ala the T-Birds.

Track 8. Fish Fry – (not Chuck Haddock) – swinging song with a Big Joe Turner taste.

Track 9. Lighthouse – nice and slow along an Otis Redding track sound.

Track 10. Connie Jones – the longest cut has a Leonard Cohen feel.

Track 11. Savor the Flavor – Caribbean notes with a reggae feel.

Track 12. It’s Hot – this one rocks out to the finish.

This collection has nice horns throughout and adequate vocals. On a scale of 1 to 10, Tom rates it a 7.5 and Dutch rates it 8 — we both enjoyed reviewing it.
