KCBS 2023 Election Notice

The Kansas City Blues Society (KCBS) will hold its annual membership meeting to elect the Board of Directors on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at The Hideout Bar and Grill, 6948 N. Oak Trafficway, Gladstone, MO, from 6-7 pm. Voting rights to elect board members are extended to all KCBS members in good standing and members who have joined 30 days before the election. The Board of Directors consists of 11 elected members. Due to rotating terms and appointed directors during the year, there are currently six (6) open positions. Absentee and proxy voting will not be allowed.  If you are interested in serving on the Board, please submit a paragraph stating your interest and qualifications to: Kansas City Blues Society, P.O. Box 32396, Kansas City, MO 64171, or email to: bttbrr@gmail.com by Friday, January 6, 2023.

We are particularly seeking individuals who have strong written and verbal communications skills (for grant writing and donor sponsorship, etc.), technical skills (for social media platforms, graphic designing, membership roster maintenance, meeting minutes, newsletter articles, etc.) merchandising and managing inventory skills—all skill sets complementing integrity, compassion, innovation, performance and relationship building qualities relative to interactions with KCBS board and its members, musicians, and all industry professionals.

After the membership meeting and election, the 2022 KCBS Annual International Blues Challenge solo winner Mark Montgomery and band winner Coyote Bill and the Brood will perform (respectively) at 7 p.m. followed by an Open Jam.

Please consider making a difference

by becoming a part of the Kansas City Blues Society future!

We encourage all past and present Blues Society members to come out for a fantastic evening of Blues music and friendship.
