November 23-27th, 2022
Knuckleheads
The organizers of the Kansas City Kansas Street Blues Festival have announced its “Last Waltz!” This is their proper “Goodbye” and everyone is invited to join them over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend November 23-27th, 2022. All the festivities will be held at Knuckleheads. The KCK Street Blues Festival sure has come a long ways from 3rd & Troup!!!
The KCK Street Blues Festival has been blessed to have entertained 50,000+ people in their 23-year existence. This will be their 14th and final installment of the Kansas City Kansas Street Blues Festival which always placed a strong emphasis on Black Blues artists of the forgotten 3rd & 5th Streets’ clubs/bars in the KCK community. So many musicians have passed in recent years and losing legendary Bluesman Millage Gilbert this year broke their hearts and spirits. This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Millage Gilbert.
Festivals have come and gone with most not getting a chance to say “Goodbye.” Frank & Mary Hicks are graciously hosting the KCK Street Blues Festival’s exit in “Grand Style”—full support in every way, in hosting the KCK Street Fest “Last Waltz” Thanksgiving Weekend November 23-27, 2022!

Please invite all friends and musicians to take this fine festival out in grand style… EVERYONE IS INVITED!! All diehard and casual Blues fans and fans of the “Street Fest” are welcome. Also all of the loyal, valued alumni musicians, their forever ago organizers, volunteers, staff, board members, financial contributors, etc.
Note that is not by accident that the KCK Street Fest is bidding farewell on Thanksgiving weekend. The Band’s “The Last Waltz” was filmed Thanksgiving night 1976 at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. So, in this same spirit, they are coming together in love of the Blues and music in general. Toast and roast the KCK Street Blues Festival, please!! “Always Celebrating Kansas City’s Blues Heritage” — PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!!
