The Megan Boyer Band draws on the rich heritage of artists such as Big Mama Thornton, Etta James, Junior Wells, Little Walter, and B.B. King to create authentic blues and R&B arrangements with a modern twist. Megan’s powerful vocals and electrifying stage presence are supported by Jon Hockenbury, harmonica and vocals; Jimmy Steffen, guitar; Dennis Ternamian, bass guitar, and Keith Angsten, drums.
Over its 17-year history, the band has performed at the Roots N’ Blues festival in Columbia, MO, the King Biscuit Blues festival in West Helena, AR, and represented the MO Blues Association at the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. The band has opened shows for Tab Benoit, Janiva Magness, Ruthie Foster and, most recently, Mike Zito at the Blue Note in Columbia.
